The devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas has left over a thousand people (and counting) missing and feared dead. More than 70,000 people have been left homeless, after Hurricane Dorian battered the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama for more than 48 hours. The extensive damage done to the Bahamas from Hurricane Dorian will require an extraordinary amount of money and effort to recover.
Entire neighborhoods and communities have been wiped out and stories of families being ripped apart have forever changed the island’s landscape. To say that those of us living here in Florida dodged a major disaster is an understatement.
Many local organizations have begun fundraising efforts including our local school, Lincoln Avenue Academy. They have set up a coordinated effort to bring much needed supplies to the Bahamas, including:
- First aid items
- Cleaning supplies
- Canned goods
- Box fans
- Leather work gloves
- Hand sanitizer
- Non-perishable food
- Cleaning and baby wipes
We are doing our part for those in need and would love for others in our community to join in! If you would like to show your support and help in the Bahamas recovery mission, feel free to reach out to us here at Fulmer Law, PA. We will be happy to put you in contact with a reputable local organization accepting supplies and/or cash donations.
